Suggest Pregnancy Tests Inspite Of Being On Contraceptives
I ve been on birth control for a long time, this last month I have taken every pill but I haven t been taking it exactly at the same time each day. My last active pill is tomorrow and my period comes tuesday. I had unprotected sex the other day but he had pulled out. Am I safe even though I took my pills a little odd this month?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The birth control pills are effective even when there is some irregularities in the timings. Even when the pills are missed for one day, they can be taken the next day, however, when missed for two days, a new cycle has to be started and the old cycle is not effective. However, if you want to rule out pregnancy, you can take up urine pregnancy test. It usually becomes positive, 10-14 days after conception.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
