General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I understand your concern.
Gilburt s syndrome is a liver disorder not producing symptoms except subjected to triggering factors like physical or psychological stress- which trigger raised bilirubin levels & jaundice.
THe life style changes to avoid such triggers consist of,
- Avoiding high calorie diet. It's better to take low calorie diet,
- avoiding physical stress & managing psychological stress by mind concentration exercises/ meditation/ listening to music .
- Medications that are metabolized in liver turn livotoxic in Gilbirt s. It's always good to avoid self medication & also to inform prescribing doctor that you have Gilbert s.
Common drugs to be avoided are- Diclofenac, Quinine, Ranitidine ETC.
Thanks.
