Suggest Precautions To Be Taken During Pregnancy After Having Miscarriage History

Hi all,

My sister (Swathi 27 yrs old) is now 5 wks pregnency now
She lost her baby few months(May 27) 2011 back becoz of LHS baby
Now again she is pregnent
What are the precautions she have to take
We are really worried about her
please suggest us

Hi,
I can appreciate your concern for your sister. If she has the history of abortion, she will definitely have to take precautions in this pregnancy. Chances of abortion are more during first three months of pregnancy, so during 1st trimester, she will have to take enough rest and don't indulge in sexual intercourse, also avoid traveling and heavy weight lifting.
She will need to go for regular follow up with her gynecologist and get her sonography done, also get antenatal sonography done at around 4th month to detect any gross anomalies of fetus at the earliest.
Otherwise she will need not to worry and be happy.
