Suggest Precautions For Conceiving If Once Aborted Due To High TSH Levels?
Dear Doctor,
I am 30 year old lady, got married last year February and conceived in September 2010.I am also a epileptic patient, I had four attacks since 1999.(once in 1999, twice in 2004 and once in 2010 may) and i was taking Tegrital 200mg OD.After conceiving doctor suggested to take gardinal 30mg (Phenobarbitone) OD instead of Tegrital. In fourth month my TSH elevated to 7 and got aborted. After abortion, doctor suggested to take eltroxin 75mcg and also started tegrital insted of gardinal. Now again we are planning for kid. Please suggest.

Continue your eltroxin tablets and check your TSH level before planning for pregnancy it should be controlled on eltroxin. and take Folic acid 5 mg daily 2 month before planning for pregnancy. continue antiepileptic drugs seizures should controlled at least 1 yr before planning of pregnancy.
