Suggest Permanent Solution For Upper Respiratory Infection

my upper respiratory infection problem is not getting treated with antibiotics. I am taking wysolone 10-20 mg a day for a period of 15 days in a year from last 12 years. I have now again started the same as the low grade fever and heaviness in the head is not going. Doctors are refusing to give any more antibiotics. Will I become dependent on this medicine for my life

Hello
Your history of illness mentioned in the query is absolutely incomplete . You mentioned upper respiratory tract infection ,but didn't mention , what type of symptoms are you having?
You mentioned that you were taking antibiotics as well as Wysolone ( prednisolone 10-20 mg 15 days in year),
Now you mentioned that you are having low grade fever with heaviness in head .
All these symptoms ( low grade fever with heaviness in head and upper respiratory infection ) may be due to these possibilities , these include.
1 Withdrawal syndrome of WYSOLONE or due to dependence of wysolone .
Side effects of wysolone are muscle weakness, bone pain , depression, weight gain , bloody /black stool.
In your case urge for wysolone may be responsible for these symptoms . So get in bone density test for confirmation.
2 Tuberculosis may be the another reason of such symptoms ( although you didn't mention about other symptoms except upper respiratory infection. Diagnosis can be confirmed by Xray chest , bronchoscopy and Montox's test . Blood for C B C, ES R and sputum for A F B also useful parameters for diagnostic purposes.
Doctors refusing for antibiotics , so need not to worry get in blood CULTURE and drug sensitivity test for other bacterial infection ( if present in blood ).
In my opinion don't take wysolone , rather consult another physician and get his opinion ( 2nd one).
Good luck.
