Suggest Pain Medication For A Person Allergic To Hydrocodone

I am 66 yr.old female. Was taking hydrocodo. 7.5 for back pain.Fri. when I took it got violently sick.My tongue was numb and felt swollen.I fell across my bed and could not breathe good.I think I actually passed out.Could not get to my phone.I woke up after 12 hrs.I thought I died and was surprised when I did not. After 2days I am ok.but will never take another one.I go to my Doctor on Wed.and will tell him what occurred.Could you recommend a safer pain med.I only took half a pill but am too scared to take any more hydrocodon.
