Suggest Natural Remedies For Male Pattern Baldness

Hello Dr. I started taking Propecia 1mg daily for about three months now. I am 39 years old, and just started thinning a little bit. My hair is really important to me. My doctor said that propecia could help. I have seen a difference already. However I have noticed that I have developed a little bit of ED. It just seems to take a little longer to achieve. I really don t want to come off the propecia. Can you give me any suggestions, would a smaller dose, or every second day cut the side effects?? Is there also something more natural, that would work the same? I am in good health, and really don t like to take medication. But I thought I would try the propecia for a few years. I really miss the thick hair I use to have, and how fast it use to grow. It is too bad the side effects have to be this. The drug seems too good to be true. Thank you Dr. for your time. Have a nice day.

Hi!! You seem to be really worried about your hair but dont take too much stress as it will further increase hair loss. Propecia is undoubtedly a very good drug for male pattern baldness but unfortunately you cant decrease the dose or use alternate days as its effects will decrease. But I have seen few patients who complained of erectile dysfunction while on propecia which disappeared after continued treatment. If you still want to discontinue it you can go for topical minoxidil solution 5 percent twice daily. It is a very good drug for male pattern baldness but has to be used for very long duration. Also you can think of going for hair transplantation in the future.
