Suggest Natural Alternative Of Amlodipine

I am looking for natural alternative of amlodipine for high blood pressure. Amlodipine works perfectly for me and taking more than 7 years. I do believe taking amlodipine life-long there must be some hidden side affect. Any idea is greatly appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker commonly prescribed to treat high blood pressure. Generally it is well tolerated however it may cause increased heartbeats, palpitations, swelling of the limbs, constipation and flushing as its side effects. There is no documented evidence of any natural alternative to amlodipine.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
