Suggest Nasal Decongestant

My son was recently prescribed a Pro Air inhaler. He gets so much mucus caught in his throat sometimes he feels like he is choking and can t breath. The inhaler helps right away but I am concerned that I thought I read online that Pro Air inhaler had a recall and also I want to know if my son can use any other nasal decongestant so he doesn t have so much mucus build up where he feels like he is choking. I am hoping the recalled inhaler would not be given out any longer. Also, the inhaler should only be used when he is having a choking/coughing situation not in advance to prevent one correct?

Assuming that the patient is suffering from bronchospasm due to bronchial asthma, inhaled therapy offers better relief with least side effects. This has to be used at the time of attack.Nasal decongestant has no role in management of bronchial asthma unless he has co existing allergic rhinitis.Another inhaler in market is xopenex, which is safe to use after 4yrs.
