Suggest Medication To Increase AFI Index For Planning Pregnancy
Age - 27yrs
Height - 158 cms
Weight - 57 kgs
Im planning for a pregnancy 2nd time and heard folic acid and vit b12 are advice during the planning stage itself.
Is folvite 5mg okay to take, if yes, what's the dosage?
Do you suggest any suppliment for vit b12?
My AFI index started to drip since 6th month during my previous pregnancy and it dripped to 5cms in the 9th month and I had to go for a C Section. Is there anything I can do this time to avoid such situations for this pregnancy i'm planning?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Folvite is folic acid tablet which is given to prevent congenital anomalies in the fetus. It is given in dosage of 5 mg once a day. Yes, vitaminB12 supplementation is advised while planning pregnancy. Decreased fluid around the fetus can be due to decreased fluid intake, decreased blood supply to the fetus or any congenital anomalies in fetus.. If the blood supply is normal and there are no congenital anomalies found in fetus on ultrasound, then the fluid can be increased by increasing the fluid intake to up to 3-4 litres a day, adequate rest and high protein diet.
