Hi,

First, we should determine you are having bacterial tonsillitis. Sometimes, viral tonsillitis might mimic the same symptoms as bacterial tonsillitis, but antibiotics are not a must.

Anyway, you can send a photo of your tonsils to me in order to evaluate the changes myself. For the moment, I advise to:

- drink plenty of fluids (especially water and oral rehydration salts, juice, tea, etc.)
- rest more
- apply oral antiseptic spray for local inflammation
- take paracetamol or other anti-inflammatory medicines (e.g. Ibuprofen)
- can take Sulfameth/Trimethoprim if you have high fever and no improvement with suggested medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
