Suggest Medication For Tiredness And Pain In Upper Abdominal Area

i had gallbladder surgery on Jan 4th, I'm still feeling tired and have been experiencing pain in my upper abs area. I had a ultrasound and blood work taken yesterday which was normal but how long does it take for this feeling to go away? I had the SLLS procedure which is done only thru the belly button.

Hi,

Post cholecystectomy pain maybe due to stones in common bile duct OR increased fat intake OR functional pain. You need further evaluation.

Advice:

- get an ultrasound (abdomen) to rule out any stone remnants in common bile duct
- also get a complete blood cell count(CBC) test
- avoid OILY food altogether
- you may need to take nexium/pantocid 40mg once daily before breakfast for 1 to 2 months

If pain persists after withdrawal of medication, then take Famotidine 20mg throughout life:

- avoid eating stomach full and mouth full
- avoid spicy food

Hope I have answered your query. Further queries are welcome. Wish you good health.r

Dr Tayyab Malik
