Could Itchy Skin After Surgery For Pancreatitis, Necrosis, Large Pcydeocyst With Gallbladder Removal Normal?

My father has just come home after 14 weeks in hospital. He had a acute pancreatitis and necrosis and a very large pcydeocyst. After surgery dad is now home however especially at night all of his skin becomes very itchy ? He was very swollen whilst in hospital and has very dry skin. Could this be the cause of the irritation? Dad also had is gallbladder removed.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

According to your complaints it seems that the itch is related to dry skin. I would recommend you to apply moisturizing lotion containing white soft paraffin on the entire body 2-3 times in a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney
