I have pain on my left side behind my rib cage under my breast. It is an uncomfortable feeling uless I press against my ribs and then it feels painful. At times I will wake up in the night if I have rolled over onto my left side. It s not rib pain (I ve had that before with broken ribs).. it s something else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to costochondritis. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.

If the symptoms continue, you should see a rheumatologist for a specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
