Suggest Medication For Osteoporosis In An Elderly Person

I am a female with osteoporosis approaching 70. Due to separate falls I broke a wrist & fractured an ankle. Currently taking Boniva & Omeprazole (due to cost, considering switch to Fosamax & Ranitidine). Are you aware of any new (FDA-approved) bone-maintenance drugs in 2015?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Fracture and osteoporosis can be taken care of by supplementing bone strengthening minerals and vitamins.
Kindly take tablets or syrup containing Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin D and Vitamin C, which should help you to maintain bones well.
Kindly minimize the use of propton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole as it is known to cause osteoporosis and weaken the bones.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best and wish you good health.
