Suggest Medication For Osteoporosis

I have just been diagnosed with Osteoporosis I am female and 77 yrs old. Do any of the bone products such as Fosomax, Actinol, (biophosphenates) and Evista contain or do for you what Ionic Boron does? I understand there is an injection of some kind that is very effective because it makes bone but I don t know the name of it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There are a number of drugs for the treatment of osteoporosis. You have heard right about the injection denosumab, however, it's not needed for everyone.

The first line treatment for osteoporosis is bisphosphonate. They are quite effective and mostly safe. So I understand you should start with it if there was any problem with that you may think of the other options. Remember to continue calcium and vitamin D with it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
