My daughter (37)has been having heartburn on and off for the past 2weeks. Tums seem to relieve the pain temporarily and she belches quite a bit after consuming a few. but she had quite a severe attack yesterday morning and is scheduled to see doctor next week. Complains of heaviness in the chest, some tingling in hands and arms. With the belching it does seem to be reflux or maybe GERD, but it just concerns me a bit about the heaviness in the chest and arms and the tingling in the hands. Don t want to overreact and scare her about possible heart problems. The doc can t see her for a week, should I be concerned? She is on a very restrictive food regime for weight loss and I was also wondering about a calcium deficiency causing these problems. She is to take calcium as she is not allowed any dairy products, but don t think she takes them regularly.
