I have a fast heart rate medication I have been on was Digoxin and Carvedilol Roche brand. my heart beat dropped to 41 and I passed out in supermarket my medication was changed to Bisoprolol then to carvedilol Mylant brand then to metoprolol and then to propranolol all have had dreadful side effects except the first 2 ie digoxin and carvedilol roche brand i spent 12 months onthe first 2 and other than slow hert rate did not have pain swelling foggy heads dreadful clouding of brain etc have you any idea of what would help thank you
As per my clinical experience, as multiple medications including beta blocker and anti arrhythmic segments have been prescribed with multiple side effects, it is the demand of case to be evaluated in details.
In my clinic, I do recommend: - Base line EKG - Complete hemogram with electrolytes - Thyroid function tests - Pulmonary function tests - 2D echo
Based upon which, type of tachycardia, arrhythmia or other disorder is to be figured out and manage accordingly best way with least side effects of the drugs.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
