Suggest Medication For Continuous High Fever Due To Suspected Throat Infection

my son has continuous fever since 5 days which is in the range of 102-103 F. He has no other symtoms except being cranky and wants to go out during fever. his CBC is normal. MP is negative. my family doctor says it is throat infection, has started azithromycin, todat is 3 day and he currently has fever of 102 F. fever reduces only eith anti-pyretic medications. Are we on the right track or we need to investigate further?
