I ve fallen on my left knee about a week ago, doctors are worried I ve chipped my knee cap and I m waiting to go for an x-ray but the bruise hasn t gone down at all is deep purple and white in the centre and it feels like a chunk of bone or hard lump in the centre any ideas what it is or what I do. Can t bend my knee and I ve been put on crutches.
Hello, Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic! I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns. Bruise is nothing but a collection of blood following a blunt trauma. No treatment is required in most of the cases and it will subside by it own in few weeks. As of now you can take simple analgesics like ibuprofen or aceclofenac for pain. Apply ice packs over the area and adequate immobilization also needed. If symptoms persist despite all these consult an orthopedic and get an MRI done. Thanks
