Hi,

I am currently on Microgynon 30 contraceptive and have been diagnosed with Melasma/chlosama, i didnt have this before i started this pill. My doctor has recommened either going on the mini pill or having the implant, but i have been reading on the internet and it also says Progestregen only pill causes melasma. I need to come off Microgynon as the melasma on my face is really getting me down, it is on the top of my cheeks just under my eyes, i have been using Meladerm but dont notice a difference.



I'd prefer not to just use condoms as they arent the safest option but i want the melasma to clear up and apparently if i stay on the pill it will just get worse and if i come off the pill it will fade on its own. Id preferably like to stay on a contraceptive pill which will not make my melasma worse and will clear it up. Can you please let me know if this is possible or if the only alternative to clearing up my melasma is coming off contraceptive pill all together.
