Suggest Me Medication For UTI As Bactrim DS Did Not Work.

I had a catheter inserted during a urodynamics test. Since then I believe I have a UTI (painful and frequent urination). I submitted my urine culture and awaiting results. The urine was cloudy. I had taken cipro for 3 days and then was switched to Bactrim DS. $0 hours have passed since I began Bactrim, No change in teh symptoms. Is this normal? Also, I was prescribed Pyridium to numb the UT, but I have seen no effect. Is there another pain reliever I can use?

hi

The treatment is based on the urine culture and sensitivity reports. Norfloxacin can be used if sensitivity present.

Disodium hydrogen citrate can be taken along with water three times a day to alkalinise the urine and reduce any burning symptoms.Drink plenty of fluids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
