Suggest Foods To Lower The High Prolactin Level

hello sir,
my mom is a patient of hyperprolactinemia. she is taking pills for more than 10 years.she had also undergone a surgery for removing mass near pituitary in 2008.at that time her prolactin level is 980.after that ,she took cabergoline tablets as prescribed by the doctor.before six months ,cabergoline showed side effects in the breast (accumulation of cells).so the doctor prescribed to change the tablet and now she is taking bromocryptin tablets..now he prolactin level is 192.apart from the tablets ,what kind of food items she have to take for lowering the prolactin level?
we kindly need your advice about the food related to this tablet?
tthankyou

Hello and welcome. With regards to food, one might want to consume foods high in zinc such as lentils, carrots, sunflower seeds, shrimp, cheese . . .Gradually increase fiber in the diet if it is low currently. Increasing fiber too quickly may create abdominal pains and gas.

With regards to Bromocriptine, kindly take this in the evening with a little bite of food or milk to avoid gastric irritation.

Natural prolactin inhibition has been suggested with the use of B6,SAM-e but there is no evidence-based dietary approach to lowering prolactin.

I wish you the best of luck! Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
