Suggest Effects Of Canestern Pills For Pregnancy

Hi, I am trying for a baby and without thinking took the canestern tablet, to treat thrust last night, I have used it many times before and didn't even think to read the box, please please help I'm so worried that if I have been lucky enough to conceive this month I have harmed the baby, what should I do now?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Canestern is a cotrimezole preparation,& is used to treat vaginal yeast infection.
- If you have taken canestern vaginal tablet & expect pregnancy this month, please don't worry.Canestern vaginal pesseries are not reported to produce fetal abnormality.
- Prolonged course of oral clotrimazole is contraindicated in early pregnancy ,but if it's essential for mother's health, it can be taken under doctor's advise.
- But please remember, pregnancy increases chances for yeast infection. So if you are not pregnant this month, you better get the infection cured before trying for conception.Treatment of both partners is needed for cure.
