Suggest Dosage For Ezetimibe

I m allergic to satins, tried several different kinds and even reduce dose to only twice a week. Satins affected my muscles. Dr, prescribed, ezetimibe. It was ok for first two weeks, but al of a sudden at the gym with my trainer, I completely collapse. My trainer caught me and just guided me to the floor. I ve checked all my Rx, nothing seems to react to. Could my thyroid Rx be affecting the cholesterol Rx, I m taking? I watch my diet, work out twice a week with trainer. I m just trying to get my cholesterol under control. Any suggestions? I m really afraid of the Ezeti now.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Ezetimibe is not supposed to cause hypotension or faintness and there is no relation to the statin-group of drugs regarding allergic reactions. I can't even guess what happened at the gym. You may have had an arrhythmia or you may have gotten exhausted due to an extremely strenuous exercise like lifting heavy weights until your muscles couldn't push anymore. Many possible causes may apply.

My recommendation for you would be to follow your doctor's advice. Your doctor - who knows your medical history better than anybody else - is the most appropriate person to decide things about your treatment regimen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis,
