Does Ezetimibe Cause Muscle Weakness And Pain?

I had been taking Zetia for quite some time, but it seems since I was changed over to the generic ezetimibe I have developed over the last few months muscle weakness, joint paid, loss of appetite and an annoying cough. Is it the ezetimibe and should I go back to the Zetia?

Hi There

After going through your query I understand your concern.

I would like to tell you that muscle weakness, joint pain, loss of appetite and cough are common side effects of Ezetimibe. Zetia is a brand name for Ezetimibe. If you have developed these symptoms after changing the brand the you can switchback to Zetia or consult with your Physician to put you on another lipid lowering drug.

Hope to have been Helpful.

Kind Regards
Dr. Navneet Bansal
