Good Morning - so sorry to hear about your mom. I cannot instruct you on a diet in this public forum, but I can give you some resources that might give you some guidance.

With your mom's weight this high it is pushing on her lungs and limiting her inhalations and exhalations further compromising her air flow and blood circulation. A textbook normal weight for your mom would be close to about 60 kg but that may not be realistic or achievable. At this point any weight loss would help.

There are no diet "charts" but a diet frequently used by physicians is The Therapeutic Lifestyle Diet found online at https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/files/docs/public/heart/chol_tlc.pdf .
If your mom was my client, I would prescribe a 1200 calorie meal plan, preferably small, frequent meals. The meal plan will suggest an increase in fiber. Focus on a GRADUAL increase (too quickly and she will get gas and it will further hinder her breathing) of SOLUBLE fiber. Soluble fibers will assist in decreasing the appetite and lowering blood fats. Soluble fibers are found in oats, skin of fresh fruit, lentils, cucumbers, carrots.

Increase the good fats - the monounsaturated, omega-3 fatty acids and delete the trans fat and lower saturated fat. Make dressings and such out of virgin olive oil and cook with canola. NO FRIED ANYTHING

An exercise program is essential - whatever she is able to do. Arm exercises, daily walks - lets strive for 150 minutes per week. Anything questionable, of course, needs doctors approval. But it is essential she exercises or her metabolism will drop and the situation will worsen.

If possible and affordable, please seek the support of a trained dietitian and a weight loss support group. Also, please visit my free nutritional library at http://www.pinterest.com/kathyshattler Best of luck to you and your mom, Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN, Adult Nutritional Specialist
