Suggest Diet During The Recovery From Typhoid

I'm recovering from typhoid. I was administered cefmac 1.5gm - iv for 5 days and now I'm on cefmac tabs. I'm a bit unclear about the kind of food that I can eat. I am restricting myself to soups and other bland food. Occasionally I take fruit juices. My questions: how long do I need to be on restricted diet? Can I have packaged juices such as tropicana - making fresh juices is cumbersome. Can I resume my work (which requires traveling) as I do not have the symptoms any more - more fever and stomach pain.

You need protien rich diet. No need to restrict yourself with soups and bland food. U can have normal dal rice chapati vegetables but not too much spicy . avoid non vegetarian as it causes infection easily. Have egg whites if u wish. Take fruits twice a day. No need for juices. In general better than juice take fruits they will give you more fibre. Have sprouts in breakfast. Tka emilk twice daily. Include salads in your meals. Take curds buttermilk on dialy basis. Include channa murmura for munching. Have dal twice a day. Eat small and frequent meals. Can start with work but consult doctor once. Don't skip your meals. Dobr stress yourself. Consult dietician with your height weight and age and diet routine
