Hi,

Noted the history about your Father and understood the concerns.
Diabetes with tuberculosis needs special care as both the conditions should be well management simultaneously.
Control of diabetes is very important.
As for the medications for tuberculosis, these are given as 4 drugs for initial 2 months followed by 2 drugs to be continued for minimum of 4 more months.
When given in combination the results can be gastritis, stomach upset and such problems.
Hence I would advise your Father the following:
Consult your Doctor again and request for prescribing separate medications to be taken at different times. Say for example Rifampicin should be taken on empty stomach in the morning.
INH that is Isoniazide to be take after breakfast.
Pyrizinamide at different times twice a day.
Ethambutol once a day after food.
This will solve the problem of gastritis, nausea and vomiting.
Also needed is to test regular liver functions and other tests and clinical evaluation to see for the side effects of these medicines.
Taking a PPI like Omeprazole and Domperidone may help symptomatically.
To maintain good hemoglobin and serum protein levels is necessary and helps in proper cure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
