Dear Doctor,
for my Father, he has difficulty swallowing due to block in end of esophagus connecting to stomach.. ie..long segment 14cm in length eccentric bowl valve

with extension into the gastro esophageal junction,

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Usually, blocked lower end of esophagus may be caused by:
1. Esophageal cancer
2. Achalasia
3. Esophageal spasm
4. Zenkers Diverticulum
5. Systemic Sclerosis

Until the diagnosis is confirmed, the cause for obstruction treatment is difficult. Please consult your gastroenterologist, he/she will examine and treat him accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
