Suggest Correct Medicine For Hyperthyroidism

Hi, My periods gone irregular after my marriage. I am married for one year now. We are planning for a kid from last six months. When I consulted a gynec, I was found to be hyperthyroidic. She has prescribed me eltroxin 100mcg for a month and also modus 10mg for 10 days starting from 16th day of my periods. As we are planning for pregnancy currently, should I take modus 10mg as prescribed?? please advise.

Hello thanks for contacting health care magic.
Going through your history I find that, you must be having hypothyroidism. not hyperthyroidism. eltroxin which contains levo-thyroxine is used to treat same. you need to be euthyroid before planning for pregnancy. And increase the dose by 25 to 50 % as soon you find that you are pregnant. Modus is to regularise the period not treat the thyroid dysfunction. modus should stopped immmediately as when you know you are preganant.
