Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
Sorry to learn about your difficult situation.
In cases where a definite treatment of hyperthyroidism with radioactive iodine or surgical removal of thyroid gland is not possible, than the hormonal balance should be maintained under control with oral tablets (methimazole or PTU).
You may discuss with your treating physician about the possibility of long term treatment with oral tablets.
Radioactive iodine is a good alternative too.
Hope the information will help somewhat.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
