Suggest An Alternative Treatment For A Whelp On The Leg
I have a whelp on my leg which I believe it is a bug bite. It is bright red about the size of a quarter. In the middle is a puncture from whatever it was that bit me. After the bright red spot is a lighter area that surrounds the red area and this area is hardened. It is on my upper thigh and makes it very painful when I sit. It has been 2 days, i have put hydrogen peroxide and bacitracin zinc ointment on it.
The symptoms seem to be related to an insect bite. I agree with your treatment. I would recommend to use antihistamines such as Cetirizine 10mg daily to relieve the itching. I also suggest using a Hydrocortisone cream for local application.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
