Suggest An Alternative Of Parocen CR?

Hi I have been on parocen CR 37.5 for almost two years but whenever i miss a dose of it i start experiencing brain zaps with my eye movements and they are so severe that it makes me feel that i have not done any better in these two years however these symtomps subside in a week.. Is there any other alternate for it which doesnt cause such horrible side effects or if i experience anything like that what should i do in that situation?

Hi,

Paroxetine is a SSRI drug and you are taking it for last two years. Any SSRI if stopped abruptly after taken regularly is known to result in withdrawal symptoms. Thus this is the reason that you have brain zaps, eye movements and other symptoms.

No need to get worried for that. Avoid missing a dose and take your drug regularly. Visit your doctor if needed. Escitalopram can be used to relieve anxiety and will help you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
