Suggest Alternative Treatment For Stage IV Ovarian Cancer

Is there a new drug/treatment available Right now (and can get also in Canada) for metastatic ovarian cancer, Stage IV (on 4th line chemo), had different chemos, surgery, Avastin infusion(not pd by medical/government for ovca!so no more money)! what do the pharmaceutical companies care! all they care about is money, not helping cancer patients live and be on medication that hopefully works! What is there now for me! ASAP

Hello,

Chemotherapy and surgery form the mainstay of treatment of stage 4 ovarian cancer. Targeted drug therapy like Avastin are used to control the cancer and increase the lifetime of patients. All are very expensive. There is another drug called Olaparib or Lynparza. This type of drug is called a cancer growth blocker. The benefits of targeted drug therapy outweigh the side effects. You can talk to your doctor about the above mentioned drugs.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
