Suggest Alternative For Pain Medications After Shoulder Surgery

Seven years ago I went in for shoulder surgery. I received a nerve block for this surgery. Now I live in constant pain. I have been seeing a pain management doctor this whole time. He claims that nothing can be done for it. I do not want to live on pain medication for the rest of my life. Can you offer some advice on a specialist that could possibly help me?

Hi,

I would advise you to get the cause of pain found out. You could get an MRI done for the affected area. A nerve conduction study also could be beneficial to arrive at a diagnosis. You should consult a surgical specialist and seek opinion on these requirements.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
