Suggest Alternate Medication For Vibryd

I was diagnosed with afib about 7 years ago. Years prior to the diagnosis, I was treated for anxiety and depression. I weaned off Effexor shortly before my afib diagnosis. I have currently been taking 20 mg of vibryd for the past 4 to 6 weeks with marginal results. Because there is no generic for vibryd, it is extremely expensive and I need to find another medicine. Can you make any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Viibryd is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors. There are many drugs in this family. However, all the various drugs have their specificities and slightly different indications. These are drugs you are not advised to take without a medical prescription.I will advise you see the prescribing Doctor, present your problem and depending on the reason he put you on this drug, he can get an alternative.Getting an alternative on your own is not the best.
Hope my answer will help you
