Suggest Alternate Medication For Istamel 50 Mg Tablet

Hi,

My husband 32 years old has been advised the intake of Istamet 50mg tablet daily twice. He has 154 fasting and 8.7 hba1c record. Please let me know if there is any substitute of lower cost medicine and the diet for my husband.

Thanks and Regards,

Debosri

Istamet is a combination of sitagliptin and meteoric, though costly,a wee bit is said to have more benefits for your health,in the long run vis a vis conserving your b cells, which secrete insulin naturally... But you may consider sulphonyl unreasonable,eg.glimepiride which may bring down both Hba1c n sugar levels cheaply in good time, though with a higher chance of complications

Pl consult your doctor regarding the pros n cons

Hope this helps
