What Does My Thyroid Test Report Indicate?
Question: My husband is 77 years old; normally active and engaged.
He has the following:
1. COPD (CAT B) (on inhalers Levolin and Formoflo) was on ABPhylline , has been taken off that by our GP. Has recently been on a reducing dose of Omnicortil for his recurrent cough.
2. Diabetes: Sitagliptin 25mg (1-0-0) and Metformin (1-0-1)
3. Syndopa Plus (3 tabs 1-1/2-1-1/2) given because of symptoms similar to Parkinson's . Improvement very good with it. But recent tiredness and unbalanced walking again - not as bad as initial symptoms in April this year.
Recent
TSH test shows as 6.93 (Range is shown as 0.34 to 5.6)
Serum sodium: 132 (Range 136 -144)
My question here is should he be put on to treatment for the hypothyroidism as maybe advised by our GP?
He's on so much medication already.
