my lipid profiles is as follows . Cholestrol - 260, Triglicide-235, HDL- 48, LDL-165, VLDL - 47. I intend to know what steps I have to taken to reduce the high triglicide in blood. I smoke cigrettee 7 to 8 a days but I reduce the same to 2 to 3 a days. I also go for a walk upto 4 Kms and also make a jogging for 1.5 Kms but the same is not reducing so kindly adivse me the right diet and exercise to be adopted to bring it upto the normal range.
First get the lipid values when NOT eating (10-12 hr total fast before the labs). This will show what lipids are from YOUR genetics and NOT from the food. They will still be high; probably not very different. This will be a clue that diet is utterly irrelevant, and perhaps medications might be indicated.
