Suffering With Depression, On Lithosum, Clonotril. Get Occasional Attacks. Remedy?
my brother is suffering with depression from last 20 years,from last five years treatment is going of dr. jay prakash of vellore lithosun 800 & clonotril 1mg is regularly been given to him ,he remains fit with it but once in a year goes in dipression and as doctor is far away we also get disturbed what to do plz suggest

Lithium is a gold standard drug for Mania . It is a preferred Mood stabilizer. However its control over depression is less. Kindly do Thyroid function test to check for underlying Hypothyroidism. Meet your nearest Psychiatrist he may switch to Oxcarbamazepine/Lamotrigine or He may add on a drug with Lithosun for augmenting mood stabilization action .
