Suffering From Tremendous Hair Loss. Remedy?

I am 28 year old male from Kolkata. I had been suffering from tremendous hair loss . Earlier I was advised to use Hair for u 5% and finax tab to stimulate hair growth and also for hair loss. I have been using this for past 1.5 years. Recently I had a check up ans she asked me to use Anastim lotion. I am using Anastim lotion for last 3 weeks. My question is : 1. Is Anastim lotion better than Hair for u 5% ? 2. If yes, then how long can i use this anastim lotion? 3. i was told to use this Anastim lotion for minimum of 2 months, so after two months of using this lotion ,can I use Hair for u 5% as earlier? 4. What else can be done to improve my hair growth? I would be highly obliged to you ,if you can suggest some way out..

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic.
It would be good if you could provide a few more details -
1. Is your hair fall from all over the scalp or predominantly on the front?
2. How many hairs fall out approximately?
3. Did you have any illnesses, surgery or extreme stress prior to onset of hair fall ?
I would be able to assess your problem better if you could give me the above details.
I am just presuming that you had a condition called androgenetic alopecia which is basically a heriditary type of hair fall based on the initial medications that your doctor had given you.
Regarding your questions,
1. I would not say anastim is better than hair 4 u as both have different mechanisms of action. If hair 4 u has not given any improvement even after 1.5 years, your doctor is probably trying another medicine which works differently. Anastim is used for conditions called telogen effluvium, so I would need above details to comment on this.
2. You could switch back to hair 4 u after 2 months. But again,it depends on the type of your hair fall. Your doctor will be the best person to decide that depending on your response.
3. Other measures to improve our fall - treat dandruff if you have any, have good protein rich diet, reduce mental stress.
If you have any other queries or if you want to provide the details I asked, please feel free to contact me.
Hope this helped.
Take care.
