Hi, This is XXXX, Software Engineer from XXXX. Unfortunately had polio when i was 3. though it is mild but i really feel inferior because of this as i have got a slight limp because of my weak left leg. It has got weak and i also have foot drop . Doctors here in XXXX say that there is nothing that they can do so i do not limp. Wonder is there anything else that can help me. Hi, Thanks for using the HCM.
Management of polio depends on its severity. If its muscle weakness you can strengthen it by doing proper exercise and physiotherapy. For bone deformity we can do some surgeries based on the affected deformity and also we can lengthen the bone by ilizaro technique. We can also do tendon lengthning procedure to relieve limp. You can use prosthetis also. So kindly meet your orthopedician for further management.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Thanks get well soon....
