Suffering From Pneumonia. Taking Levofloxacin, No Improvement. Recommendations?
I have LLL pneumonia and have been on Levofloxacin 500 mg for 3 days now. Should I be feeling better? I almost feel as if I'm getting worse.....upper back and chest aches, occasional stomach discomfort and of course breathing isnt up to par. Trying to decide if I need to be seen or if I just need more medicine in my system?
HI Thank for asking to HCM It is just three days gone since you have started, antibiotic,,, you will get result after 5 days, if the dose is antiquates calculate dose has to be given ( According to the body weight which is not mentioned here), second the drug must be resistance to the causative organism, discus it with your doctor. have nice day.
Thanks for query on HCM. Treatment is on right way but if i have patient like you ,i would start antibiotic like amoxy with clavulinic. Amoxicillin is first-line outpatient treatment in adults. Also take levocetrizine/motelucast with ambroxal. Take rebeprazole with antibiotic to subside stomach discomfort. Bronchodilator syrup or tablet is advisable to improve the breathing problem. Steam inhalation will be helpful. Avoid to go in smoky, dusty area. Keep in touch with your doctor.
