Suffering From Down's Syndrome And Autism. Developed Series Of Unexplained Bruises On Thighs And Elbow Causing Pain

Hello my son is 18 years old has Down's Syndrome and Autism. He has developed a series of unexplained bruises on his calves/thigh and elbow. They appear to be causing pain when walking but he has limited language so it is difficult to know how bad. He is limping quite significantly.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
Spontaneous bruising could be a sign of bleeding disorder.
Please get your son' s coagulation profile including platelet count, bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time checked to rule out underlying coagulation disorders.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
