Suffered From Cellulitis. Treated With Linzeloid And Ornida. Red Spots Appearing Frequently. Permanent Cure?
Hi Doctor,
My mother has suffered with Cellulitis two and half years back, She was treated wtih IV antiboitics like Linzeloid and Ornida and got cured. That time left leg below knee was totally red and infected but cured in 3 days in hosptal admission in Manipal bangalore. However the this red spots keep coming every one month or two months and threaten like cellulities and go off. What is the permanent cure fo this pleas advice.

Regarding red spot after treatment of cellulitis should not recur if was treated completely.
Reason of recurrence will only fix the problem permanently. Usually infection of skin and soft tissue take longer antibiotic treatment may be for 10 to 14 days. Why Linezolid was started do you know because it is reserve drug for multi drug resistant bacteria. If it was multi drug resistant bacteria then one has to take antibiotic for 2 weeks. Just for information Linezolid can be take oral tablet and will give same result as IV.
It is safe to rule out infection of underlying bone by imaging. Red spots may be due to allergic phenomenon also. You need to be in follow up with treating doctor to fix all these issues
