Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Brain stroke involving the left side of brain leads to loss of speech and weakness of right half of body.

For improvement, he should undergo speech therapy and physiotherapy.

It is important to continue blood thinners and cholesterol lowering medicines, as prescribed by his doctor.

If he has high BP or sugar, he should take medicines to control them too.

Recovery takes long time, and continues for up to two years.

Best wishes,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
