Suffered A Knee Injury, Bruised Shin, Hard Knot Developed. Tried Massaging It. Treatment?

Hi, I fell on my knee 4 weeks ago, & bruised the front of my shin, about an inch from my knee. The bruise finally went away about a week ago, but I still have a hard knot about the size of a ping pong ball. I tried to work the knot out, thinking it was the equivalent of a back massage, but it s hard & is a little tender. Should I be concerned ?
