Suffer From Mild Temperature, Sore Throat And Discharge In The Eyes. Any Remedy?

I've been suffering from a slight temperature, sore throught, cough and now yellow mucuos in my eyes. I typically eat hot soups and bundle up at night which (in the past) has enabled me to sweat and eliminate the sympthoms. This remedy has not worked so far as the sympthoms come and go. The mucuous in the eyes started today. What might I have? Can plenty of fluids and rest enable me to overcome this condition? Thank you very much. Michael S.

You most likely have upper Respiratory Tract Infection along with bacterial Conjunctivitis. If you have fever, it is be advisable that you show your Family Physician who can start you an a course of mild antibiotics. For the eye discharge, you start on a simple antibiotic eyedrop like Besivance or Gatifloxacin four times daily for five - seven days. Keeping the eyes clean with moist cotton swabs or tissue paper would help in early recovery from the conjunctivitis.
