Sudden Burning Of The Hands With No Insect Bite/ Redness?

I woke up this morning and my left hand was on fire. As the day progressed it has gotten worse. My right hand is burning too but not nearly as bad. I checked for insect bites, their are none, and no redness. I have tried cold packs and elevation. Nothing helps. I am 40 yrs old. A male. With no health problems.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. The burning sensation in hands needs a medical attention particularly to find out any nerve problem in the neck/ spine. May be it would be wise to go for blood sugar and thyroid tests along with the routine once. The doctor on examination might order for an MRI of neck and cervical spine.
